Rangatahi Online Series
Understanding the impacts of COVID-19 on rangatahi Māori and Pasifica
One one of our researchers’ – Jacqueline Paul interviews multiple young people across Aotearoa New Zealand to understand the impacts of COVID-19 crisis has on them and their whanau at this time. This provides space and online platform to share their stories and voices.
We ask rangatahi multiple questions to engage in the discussion
- How are you and your whanau coping during this COVID-19 lock-down and pandemic?
- What are some of the key issues you are seeing that young people are facing during this crisis? In New Zealand and potentially the Pacific.
- How are you finding the lock-down process as a student and transitioning online as distance learners?
- What support would you like to see made for young people as we face economic downturn/hardship in order to recover?
- We are seeing significant changes as our ecosystems replenish, flora and fauna (birds etc) appear where they wouldn’t normally see. Climate change is a significant issue for young people, what would you like to see or change regarding environmental issues?
